Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home that has a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic revenue doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from nsfas application households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Id Doc numbers, names, here and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and nsfas status avoid delays in the processing of their application.
